Annual Food Drive

Project Shepherd is a combined community effort sponsored by Lakewood Rotary Club and the City of Lakewood. The annual charity drive collects cash donations, gifts and food items to help hundreds of Lakewood families in need, primarily during the winter holidays. The “Food Drive” includes any “nonperishable” food (sugar, flour, rice, beans and canned goods) Home-prepared foods and glass jars cannot be accepted. Bring your canned food donations to school between November 26 and December 10, 2018.

 Please send in a $1-5 donation to purchase grocery store gift card to be used for Turkey/Ham

  • Bisquick or comparable baking mix
  • Potatoes (boxed)
  • Gravy (canned)
  • Stuffing Mix
  • Yams (2 cans)
  • Rice
  • Beans (3 cans)
  • Canned Vegetables (2 cans, such as peas, carrots, etc.)
  • Cranberry Sauce or Canned Fruit
  • Canned Tuna 
  • Chicken Broth or Canned Soup (3 cans)
  • Peanut Butter & Jelly
  • Boxed Cookies

Jello or Instant Pudding
Muffin Mix AND Muffin Cups
Mayonnaise, Ketchup, Mustard

How to Register for the Holiday Assistance Program

 

Registration is November 5 - 18, 2018 for Lakewood residents only

Two types of documentation are required to register:

  • Proof of Lakewood residency (current utility bill or government reward letter)
  • Identification for every person in the household, including children.

Register at:

  • Burns Community Center Mon-Fri 10am-6pm or Sat 8am-11am
  • Palms Park - Tue 2pm-8pm or Sat 1pm-5pm
